Homemade spicy tuna dip recipe made with fresh tuna, sambal chili paste, and avocado

You’ve spent the day catching tuna and you’ve got this amazing fish ready to serve.  After being out on the water, you want an easy way to prep and serve your fresh catch.   As an Offshore Charter Boat Fishing Guide, a few of the questions I get asked (a lot) are “What do I do with all this fish we caught?””Can I have this recipe to take home?”  How about a recipe for Fresh Spicy Tuna Dip!

Many of the recipes I make are quick from start to table.  If you keep it simple, it’s easy to replicate, tastes good and it’s a fast solution after a long day of fishing.  Want a solid recipe that will have you looking like you went to culinary school?  Give this one a go.

Here’s a quick and easy recipe for Fresh Spicy Tuna Dip, hands down you’ll come back to this again and again!

Fresh Spicy Tuna Dip
8″ Fresh Tuna Loin
Sambal Oelek Fresh Ground Chili Paste
Siracha (to taste)
Cucumber (peeled and sliced_
2c cooked rice
Avocado, sliced
Soy Sauce

Take 1/3 of the tuna loin and cut into 1″ cubes, place the other 2/3 on the side for now.
In a bowl, place tuna cubes, 1 heaping tbsp Chili Paste, and 2 good squirts of Siracha (or to taste).  Mix thoroughly, cover and refrigerate until chilled, about 45 minutes.

To serve:  arrange sliced and peeled cucumber in the center of a large dinner plate, top with 2c rice and spicy tuna mixture.  Take remaining 2/3 tuna loin, slice into 1/4″ pieces, line these around the sides.  Garnish with Sliced Avocado and serve with Soy Sauce on the side.
